Multichannel
Multichannel covers effects and routing tools whose channels are ordinary audio lanes or physical speaker feeds. Unlike Ambisonics, these plugins do not treat the bus as an ACN/SN3D sound field.
A surrounding speaker array is not required. See Listening on a Stereo System to fold ordinary multichannel material down with Output Autogain Stereo or to choose the correct decoder for an ambisonic field.
Sections
- Effects: topology, macro, spectral, buffer, and distributed-output processing.
- Monitoring / Fold-down: stereo and quad audition paths plus fixed-width multichannel metering.
- Direct Panning: DBAP, LBAP, VBAP, and layout editing for source-to-speaker placement.
- Bus Mixing / Routing: group matrices, wide node buses, and channel-path validation.
- Speaker-array Utilities: layout-aware subwoofer crossover and per-output calibration.
Choose a Path
Use Effects when the channels themselves are the material being transformed. Use Monitoring / Fold-down to hear or inspect an existing bus, Direct Panning when source signals should be placed onto physical outputs, Bus Mixing / Routing when complete channel groups must be combined, and Speaker-array Utilities for the final per-speaker correction stage.
