Ambisonic Utilities

Utilities inspect, reshape, and exchange ambisonic material without acting as a source encoder or final listening decoder. They are useful for checking order, visualizing energy, and moving authored spatial data between s3g-mc and s3g-dsp.

Workflow

1. Confirm the source is ACN/SN3D and identify its active order, then choose a utility and insert it on a correctly routed Ambisonic track at the point where the field needs inspection or order shaping.
2. Follow it with an ambisonic decoder.
3. Send audio through the chain, then inspect the live field or adjust complete order bands, keeping any file-format page alongside the authoring or loading tool it documents.

Inspection and Order

• Ambi Transform Order Band 64: solos, mutes, or trims complete ambisonic orders and channel bands.
• Analyzer Ambi Energy 64: passthrough direction, order, and energy inspection for as many as 64 channels.

Interchange Formats

• .s3gimprint format: directional space-response data exported by Imprint Sketch and loaded by Processor Ambi Imprint.
• .s3gray format: spatial Ray field data exported by Ray Sketch and loaded by the Ray encoders.

Format Baseline

The ambisonic plugins use ACN channel order and SN3D normalization. A complete order contains (order + 1)^2 channels: 4 for 1OA, 9 for 2OA, 16 for 3OA, and 64 for 7OA. Confirm that convention before diagnosing a decoder or visualizer as incorrect.
