Ambi Encoder Cloud

s3g Ambi Encoder Cloud distributes up to 64 input lanes into one to four spatial clouds, then encodes the result as first-through-seventh-order ACN/SN3D.

Use it when a group of mono or direct-channel sources should behave like a moving spatial mass rather than individually placed point sources. For explicit per-point automation, use Ambi Encoder Point.

Ambi Encoder Cloud with source-cloud placement, field geometry, shape and motion controls, and ambisonic output setup.

Workflow

  1. Insert s3g Ambi Encoder Cloud on a 64-channel source track or bus, set the active INPUTS, and select the ambisonic ORDER.
  2. Follow it with an ambisonic decoder.
  3. Set CLOUDS, then place the cloud centers.
  4. Choose their shape, spread, and motion force.
  5. Set drift, jitter, and decorrelation for the desired internal movement.

Model

Cloud Editing

The selected cloud has azimuth, elevation, distance, and gain controls. Each cloud center is also exposed to REAPER automation as its own azimuth, elevation, and distance lane.

Shape and Motion

SHAPE changes how sources are distributed around each cloud. Shapes include CUMULUS, STRATUS, CIRRUS, LENTICULAR, and STORM.

FORCE changes the internal motion behavior. CALM stays slow and centered. ADVECTION, SHEAR, CONVECTION, and TURBULENCE add stronger cloud movement.

Order and Routing

The output bus remains 64 channels wide. The selected order activates the corresponding ACN channels and clears the remainder.
