Ambi Effect Gain

s3g Ambi Effect Gain 64 applies directional gain processing to complete 1OA through 7OA fields. Listener pickups receive independent effective levels, topology can move those levels through the body, and the result is returned as a correction over the unchanged encoded input.

Ambi Effect Gain on a 3OA DODECA 20 body with varied gain relationships and an enabled directional wet mask.

Workflow

  1. Insert s3g Ambi Effect Gain 64 on a correctly routed Ambisonic track after the encoder or encoded source and match ORDER to the field.
  2. Follow it with an ambisonic decoder. Additional Ambisonic effects may be placed before the decoder when their supported order and channel count match the field.
  3. Choose a listener body and begin at 0 dB with neutral spread, deviation, and local trims.
  4. Shape the common level, then introduce pickup relationships, topology movement, or a directional mask while listening.

Body and Gain Model

AUTO uses ICOSA 12 for 1OA-2OA, DODECA 20 for 3OA, and SPHERE 24 for 4OA-7OA. All three bodies can also be selected directly. GAIN ranges from -60 to +18 dB; 0 dB is neutral. Each of twenty-four persistent pickup slots adds up to ±24 dB of local trim inside the bounded range.

Macro Relationships

SPRD creates an ordered level slope across the listener body and DEV adds stable irregular differences. This is the macro-effect gesture: at zero spread and deviation every point follows the common gain, while increasing either control opens a visible relationship field without requiring twenty manual edits.

Listener View

Radial envelopes show incoming energy before gain, and small point glyphs keep the Dodeca20 view legible. Each point carries an effective-gain ray; selecting it shows the heard input level and effective dB value, highlights its topology route, and opens its gain-trim rail. The camera supports TOP, SIDE, 3/4, and click-drag orbit.

Directional Mask

The directional wet mask can place attenuation or boost in one direction while other directions remain dry. CURVE tightens the island. DRY reaches -100% FX ONLY, suppressing the complementary original pickup signal so only the gain-shaped island remains at a fully wet MIX.
