Ambi Transform Rot 64

s3g Ambi Transform Rot 64 is a fixed 64-in/64-out ACN/SN3D ambisonic utility for rotating a field before decoding, analysis, or further processing. It supports first through seventh order.

Workflow

  1. Insert s3g Ambi Transform Rot 64 on a correctly routed Ambisonic track after the encoder or encoded source and match ORD to the field.
  2. Follow it with an ambisonic decoder. Additional Ambisonic effects may be placed before the decoder when their supported order and channel count match the field.
  3. Begin with WID at its neutral 1.00 setting.
  4. Adjust YAW, PIT, and ROL to orient the field, then use width or automation when the rotation needs additional movement.

Rotation Model

Rotate turns a captured or generated field without changing the downstream speaker layout. It remains a field-coherent transform between the Ambisonic source and its decoder.

The selected order rotates through a spherical projection matrix while the plugin keeps a stable 64-channel bus. Use YAW, PIT, and ROL to orient the field without changing downstream pin routing.

Controls

Routing

The plugin exposes one 64-channel input bus and one 64-channel output bus. Channels above the selected order are cleared so downstream tools do not see stale higher-order lanes.

Use the same order setting through nearby ambisonic utilities unless you intentionally want to limit the field. A 3OA source can run through a 7OA-width plugin safely, but only the channels present in the source carry meaningful signal.
