Drum Kick

Drum Kick synthesizes a pitch-dropping low oscillator, harmonic body, short punch and click layers, and a filtered texture tail. It ranges from clean sub-heavy hits to compact electronic impacts and degraded drum-machine color without replaying samples.

Drum Kick separates the low voice from attack, texture, shared character, and output controls.

Workflow

  1. Insert s3g Drum Kick on a stereo instrument track and send MIDI note 36 as the reference hit.
  2. Route the track to the main stereo output or a headphone monitor.
  3. Set TUNE, PITCH DROP, and SWEEP TIME for the fundamental gesture.
  4. Balance PUNCH, CLICK, and TEXTURE, then set the decay and character.
  5. Choose a stereo width and finish the session level with OUTPUT GAIN.

Sound Model

TUNE is the settled pitch. PITCH DROP offsets the attack above or below it, SWEEP TIME controls the fall, and PITCH SETTLE changes how the fast and slow pitch paths meet. BODY and HARMONICS add upper structure around the fundamental; TAIL extends its slow component.

The attack has two complementary paths. PUNCH reinforces low-frequency force, while CLICK, CLICK TONE, and CLICK DECAY define a short pitched contact. TEXTURE adds a separately filtered, separately decaying noise layer.

MIDI

Note 36 is the pitch anchor. Other notes also trigger the kick and transpose it according to NOTE TRACKING; use 0% when every key should retain the same kick pitch. Note-off is ignored and overlapping hits use independent synthesized voices.

MIDI RECEIVE defaults to OMNI; choose CH 1 through CH 16 to accept only that channel when several drum instruments share one sequencer stream.

Controls

Presets and Safe Random

The twelve factory voices span DEEP ANCHOR, TIGHT CIRCUIT, LONG CURRENT, BROKEN SAMPLER, WIDE TOP, and related variations. RANDOM creates a new bounded kick design rather than selecting one of them. It preserves OUTPUT GAIN, NOTE TRACKING, and VELOCITY SENSITIVITY.

Output

The plugin publishes two channels. At STEREO WIDTH 0%, both carry the same mono signal. Wider settings keep the bass centered while opening upper click, texture, and harmonic detail.
